数控车床刀架

Sometime prior to January of 2008 Dieter Freind published his designs for an automatic tool changer for a CNC lathe. His design is elegant and has solves some tough problems with simple solutions. The tool changer is able to positions eight tools very accurately and maintain rigid tool position while still being able to change tools quickly. I would like to start by thanking Dieter Freind for his design and sharing it.

By May 0f 2011 his website no longer existed and the original design had become lost. Through the effort of many on CNC forums his plans were shared and I was able to get a copy. I decided I would update his design to SolidWorks as well as make some improvements. His original drawings have several inconsistencies and the 3D models no better. The files have changed hands countless times before I received them and Dieter himself includes a warning that his drawings may not be free of errors.
